The Bellinzone site consists of a group of
fortifications centring on the castle of Castelgrande, which stands on the
rocky peak looking out over the entire Ticino valley. Running from the
castle, a series of fortified walls protect the ancient town and block the
passage through the valley. A second castle forms an integral part of the
fortifications; a third but separate castle (Sasso Corbaro) was built on an
isolated rocky promontory south-east of the other fortifications.

Le site de Bellinzone est
composé d'un ensemble de fortifications centré sur le château de Castelgrande
qui occupe le sommet d'un rocher contrôlant la vallée du Tessin. Depuis ce château,
une série de murs de fortification protègent l'ancienne ville et barrent la vallée
du Tessin ; le second château est intégré au dispositif fortifié ; un troisième
château isolé (Sasso Corbaro) a été construit sur un promontoire au sud-est
de l'ensemble.

Bellinzone está compuesto por un conjunto de
fortificaciones centradas en el castillo de Castelgrande, que ocupa una cima
rocosa, desde la cual se controla el valle de Tessin. Tras el castillo, una
serie de muros de fortificación protegen a la antigua villa y cierra el paso
al valle de Tessin; el segundo castillo está integrado al mecanismo de la fortificación;
un tercer castillo aislado (Sasso Corbaro) está construido sobre un
promontorio al Sudeste del conjunto.

Die Statte Bellinzone ist von einem
Befestigungenskomplex um das Schloss Castelgrande gebildet, das auf dem
Gipfel eines das Ticinotal kontrollierenden Felsens sich befindet. Ab dieses Schloss
schützt eine Reihe befestigter Mauern die Altstadt und versperrt das
Ticinotal. Das zweite Schloss ist in der befestigten Unterrichtung
eingeschlossen. Ein drittes isoliertes Schloss (Sasso Corbaro) ist auf einem
Vorgebirge errichtet worden, das südöstlich vom Komplex sich befindet.
