A colony of the Greeks of Thera, Cyrene was one of
the principal cities in the Hellenic world. It was Romanized, and remained a
great capital until the earthquake of 365. A thousand years of history is
written in its ruins, famous since the 18th century.

principales ciudades del mundo helenico. Posteriormente romanizada, continuo
siendo una gran ciudad hasta los terremotos del ano 365. Un milenio de
historia esta escrito en sus ruinas, celebres desde el siglo XVIII.

Kyrene, eine Kolonie der Griechen aus
Thera, war eine der wichtigsten Stadte der hellenischen Welt. Die dann
romanisierte Stadt blieb eine grosse Hauptstadt bis zum Erdbeben im Jahre 365
ubrig. Ein Jahrtausend Geschichte kann in ihren Ruinen gesehen werden, die
seit dem 18ten Jahrhundert beruhmt sind.
