Germany - Mines of Rammelsberg, historic Town of Goslar and Upper Harz Water Management System

Situated near the Rammelsberg Mines, Goslar held an important place in the Hanseatic League because of the rich Rammelsberg metallic ore deposits. From the 10th to the 12th century it was the seat of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Its historic centre, dating from the Middle Ages, is perfectly preserved with some 1,500 semi-timbered houses between the 15th and 19th centuries.

Situee pres des mines de Rammelsberg, la ville de Goslar a tenu une place importante dans la Ligue hanseatique etant donne l'importance des gisements de metaux de Rammelsberg. Du Xe au XIIe siecle, elle est devenue le siege du Saint Empire romain germanique. Son centre historique, datant du Moyen Age, est parfaitement preserve et comprend environ 1 500 maisons a colombage datant du XVe au XIXe siecle.

Die neben dem Bergwerk Rammelsberg liegende Stadt Goslar spielte eine Hauptrolle in der Hansaliga dank ihren wichtigen Metallablagerungen. Vom 10ten bis zum 12ten Jahrhundert ist sie der Sitz des romischen germanischen Heiligen Reichs geworden. Ihr aus dem Mittelalter historische Stadtzentrum ist ausgezeichnet behalten und schliesst circa 1.500 zwischen dem 15ten und dem 19ten Jahrhundert gebauten Fachwerkhauser ein.
