Denmark - Roskilde Cathedral

Built in the 12th and 13th centuries, this was the first Gothic cathedral built of brick in Scandinavia and it inspired the spread of this style throughout Northern Europe. It became the mausoleum of the Danish royal family from the 15th century onwards. Porches and side chapels were added to it up until the end of the 19th century. It now provides a visible summary of the development of European religious architecture.

Elevee aux XIIe et XIIIe siecles, c'est la premiere cathedrale gothiques batie de briques scandinave. Elle fut a l'origine de la diffusion de ce style dans toute l'Europe du Nord. Mausolee de la famille royale du Danemark a partir du XVe siecle, elle fut enrichie jusqu'au XIXe siecle de porches et de chapelles laterales. Elle offre ainsi aujourd'hui un resume manifeste de l'evolution de l'architecture religieuse europeenne.

Dinamarca - Catedral de Roskilde

Levantada entre los siglos XII y XIII, Roskilde fue la primera catedral gotica de Escandinavia enteramente construida con ladrillo y su estilo arquitectonico se difundio posteriormente por todo el norte de Europa. Desde el siglo XV se convirtio en mausoleo de la familia real danesa y hasta finales del siglo XIX se le fueron anadiendo diversos porches y capillas laterales. Su edificio actual sintetiza claramente la evolucion de la arquitectura religiosa europea a lo largo de ocho siglos.

Der in den 12ten und 13ten Jahrhunderten gebaute Dom ist der erste aus Backstein in Skandinawien und war der Anfang der Ausbreitung dieses Styls in Nordeuropa. Das ab das 15te Jahrhundert Mausoleum der danischen koniglichen Familie wurde bis das 19te Jahrhundert mit Portalvorbauen und Seitentoren verziert. Deshalb zeigt heute der Dom eine erwiesene Ubersicht der Entwicklung der europaischen religiosen Architektur.
