In
the early years of the 15th century the Emperor T'aejong ordered the
construction of a new palace at an auspicious site. A Bureau of Palace
Construction was set up to create the ensemble, which consists of a number of
official and residential buildings set in a garden that closely conforms with
the uneven topography of the 58ha site. The result is an exceptional example
of Far Eastern palace architecture and design, harmoniously integrated with
its surrounding natural landscape.

Au début du XVe siècle, l'empereur
T'aejong a ordonné la construction d'un nouveau palais dans un lieu propice.
Un office de construction du palais a été établi afin de créer cet ensemble
constitué d'un certain nombre de bâtiments officiels et résidentiels édifiés
dans un jardin minutieusement adapté a la topographie irrégulière du site de
58 hectares. Le résultat est un exemple exceptionnel de la conception extrême-orientale
de l'architecture du palais, harmonieusement intégré à son environnement
naturel.

A
comenzios del siglo XV, el emperador T'aejong ordeno la construcción de un
nuevo palacio en un lugar adecuado. Fue creada una oficina para la construcción
del palacio con objeto de planificar este conjunto formado por una cierto número
de edificios oficiales y residenciales construidos en un jardín
minuciosamente adaptado a la topografía irregular del sitio, sobre una
superficie de 58 hectáreas. El resultado fue un excepcional ejemplo de la
arquitectura palatina del Extremo Oriente, armoniosamente integrada en su
entorno natural.

Am Anfang des 15ten Jahrhunderts hat
der Kaiser T'aejong die Errichtung eines neuen Palasts in einem günstigen Ort
befohlen. Ein Bauamt wurde eingerichtet, um diesen Komplex zu gründen, der
aus mehreren öffentlichen und Wohnbauwerken besteht. Diese Bauwerke wurden in
einem Garten errichtet, der sorgfältig an die unregelmäßige Topographie der
58 Hektaren großen Statte angepasst wurde. Das Ergebnis ist ein außerordentliches
Beispiel der fernöstlichen Fassung der Architektur eines Palastes, der sich
in seine natürliche Umgebung harmonisch eingefügt hat.
