Germany - St Mary's Cathedral and St Michael Church at Hildesheim

St. Michael's Church was built between 1010 and 1020, following a symmetrical plan with two apses, characteristic of Romanesque Ottoman art in Old Saxony. Its interior, in particular the wooden ceiling and painted stuccowork, along with the treasures of St. Mary's Cathedral, famous for its doors and Bernward bronze column, are an outstanding testimony to the Romanesque churches of the Holy Roman Empire.

L'eglise Saint-Michel a ete batie de 1010 a 1020 selon un plan basilical a deux absides, caracteristique de l'art roman ottonien en Vieille Saxe. Son decor interieur, notamment son plafond de bois et ses stucs peints, de meme que les tresors de la cathedrale Sainte-Marie, celebre pour ses portes et sa colonne de bronze de Bernward, sont autant de temoignages du plus haut interet sur ce que furent les eglises romanes du Saint Empire romain.

La iglesia de San Miguel fue construida entre los anos 1010 y 1020 siguiendo un proyecto simetrico que tuvo gran influencia en el desarrollo de la arquitectura romanica. Su decoracion interior, especiamente el techo de madera y los estucos pintados, asi como los tesoros de la catedral de Santa Maria, celebre por sus puertas y por la columna de bronce de Bernward, es un testimonio excepcional de la iglesias romanicas del Sacro Imperio.

Die Michaeliskirche wurde vom Jahre 1010 bis zum Jahre 1020 gemass eines mit zwei Apsiden Plans gebaut, der von der ottonischen romanischen Kunst in Altsachsen charakteristisch ist. Ihr Innendekor, besonders ihre Holzdecke und ihre gemalten Stuck, und die Schatze des Mariadoms, der dank seinen Bronzetoren und seiner von Bernward aus Bronze gestellten Saule beruhmt ist, sind Zeugnisse hochsten Interesses daruber, was die Kirchen des romischen Heiligen Reichs waren.
